Il Vittoriale degli Italiani is one of the most evocative places in the world, almost a city within a city. This verdant, panoramic space overlooking Lake Garda was created by the genius of the great writer Gabriele D'Annunzio. It consists of many areas: the park, the amphitheater, and numerous rooms in the immense villa, filled with relics, memories, mementos, and traces of his "excessive" lifestyle. The poet-soldier’s aim was to make this place a kind of memorial to his "inimitable life." The fragrance tells the story of these spaces, where everything is unusual and mystical, with a particular focus on the Music Room, where every detail exudes a striking sensuality.
From the very first moment, the fragrance immerses us in a surreal atmosphere, generated by a special play of contrasts, where cardamom seeds and the bold scent of Italian leather intertwine with the rich notes of peat and tobacco. This dizzying blend quickly turns mysterious and exotic, with jasmine flowers and violets from Garda narrating the luxurious blood-red and black silk draperies that adorn the room's walls. The intoxicating, primal notes, intensified by laudanum and precious musk, guide us visually and dreamily through the exquisite fabrics embroidered in gold, featuring wild and majestic animals, tamed by the room’s vibrant music and song. The untamed power of patchouli continues to convey an insatiable desire to live beyond all conventions, pursuing only a refined aesthetic quest for wonder. At the base of the fragrance, blended with precious ambergris, rare and precious oudh wrapped in oak moss imbue the fragrance with a strong and elegant spirit.
